Impel consultants provide instructor-led training for providers and staff in a classroom setting and perform on-the-job training (OJT). During OJT they will train the users to effectively and efficiently use NextGen in their daily work environment.
Initial steps in planning the training will include identifying training needs.
Training available and necessary for the successful implementation of NextGen EMR:
Definition Workshop – To provide an overview of EMR application and provide training on System Administrator and File Maintenance to the core group of staff members who will be responsible for the setup of EMR end users and responsible for the management and maintenance of NextGen EMR Tables.
Core Group Training – To provide Template Work Flow, Encounter Processing and Document Development this includes Template and Document Import/Export to the core group of staff members who will be responsible for training the staff on template flow and modifications or maintenance of the NextGen EMR Templates and Documents.
Image Control System – To provide ICS Application Training and Application Set up requirements to the staff members who will be responsible for setting up the rights/restrictions in System Admin and building Tables in File Maintenance. The Imaging Control System application is used for scanning old charts, EOB’s and miscellaneous paper with in your organization.
End User Training – To give the users an overview by role on how the EMR works as it pertains to their specific job role (Provider, Nurse/MA, Support).
On-The-Job Training – One on One training provided to users based on specific roles. Goal is to Document patient encounters at the users’ point of care.
